My name is... (2021)

The assumption with names - experiment workshop

I was biking and a random guy on the street said: Nihao (means Hello in Mandarin) to me and was laughing at me with his friend after that. They saw an Asian like me and assumed I am from China. It just happened I speak Chinese Mandarin but that doesn’t mean I am Chinese. Their behaviour is disrespectful; however, the questions about assumption with how you look, what is your name like to effect the presumption from people have emerged in my mind. In this workshop, I put names I found on LinkedIn on an online canvas, I invited people to draw or write down what do they think this person looks like, after read their names
